Wasup App

Wasup is a macOS app for WhatsApp power users and community builders — it reads your own message history and lets you search it, break it down by group and by member, and summarise it. Watch the demo and sign up here.

  • Your whole history - Reads the local store from the WhatsApp desktop app rather than a single exported chat
  • Search - Across groups and years, not just the last few weeks the app will scroll back to
  • Group and member stats - Message counts, activity over time, who's actually carrying a community
  • Summaries - Optional AI recaps of a date range, for when you've been away from a busy group

It's a native macOS app built in Flutter, reading WhatsApp's own SQLite database read-only and syncing it incrementally into its own local store, so nothing is re-imported twice and nothing is written back. Everything stays on your machine — the one exception is the AI feature, which sends the messages in the date range you pick to Gemini using your own API key. An earlier version was Python packaged with Briefcase; the rebuild was about making it something other Mac users could actually install. Built with Claude.
