Dive Together Community Platform
Work in progress This project is actively being built. If there are links use at your own risk. This page might also be out of date.
Freedivers are hard to find. There's no directory — the community lives in Instagram DMs and WhatsApp groups. Dive Together is a map and directory of freedivers and the schools they train at, so you can see who's near you or near where you're going.
- People - Freedivers, spearfishers, athletes, instructors, photographers, researchers, captains. Filter by skill, certification agency, or country
- Schools - 560 freediving schools worldwide, each claimable by whoever runs it
- The map - People, schools, and events on one clustered view you can zoom into
- Events - Comps, camps, and courses, with dates and locations

Profiles show city and country only. Street addresses aren't collected, map pins sit at city-level coordinates, and email is never public — you get in touch through the links someone chose to publish. There's no messaging built in; the community already has DMs.

Certifications are self-reported across the ten agencies people actually train with — AIDA, Molchanovs, SSI, PADI Freediving, Apnea Total and the rest. Nothing is verified.

The schools were seeded before launch — scraped, cleaned, and deduplicated — so the map wasn't empty on day one. Each one is claimable by its owner and approved by hand.
The idea started in 2019 as Freediving Family and got as far as a logo and a Webflow site before stalling for five years. Building it properly meant auth, geo queries, user-generated content, and moderation. In 2026 I picked it up again and built it with Claude: Next.js on Vercel, Supabase and Postgres with row-level security enforcing the privacy rules, MapLibre over OpenFreeMap tiles.
It's live and in beta at divetogether.co.
